The Beauty of Prioritizing
Yes, summer's over, but have no fear. We have great weather through October which we rightly deserve for paying so much to live here. Seriously though, the Fall is a time where we move from extroversion to introspection and when we begin to focus on the important tasks at hand. Like you, I get overwhelmed sometimes by all that's on my plate. I have come to believe that time management is a myth with all there is to get done. That's why I have changed my focus to prioritizing. At work, beyond seeing patients, I list 2-3 things (no more) that I aim to achieve on any given day. If I complete those, I can feel satisfied that the most important things got done. It's not too sophisticated, but it works really well. Try it and let me know how it goes.

Prepare for Cold and Flu Season
Looking to avoid the sniffles (or worse!) when the weather starts to cool off? A proper treatment of acupuncture and herbs might just be the trick to keep your immune system strong from fall to summer. Acupuncture helps the immune system by stimulating production of antibodies and other critical items for keeping your body healthy. It also can treat specific immune-draining symptoms, such as stress, physical pain, and insomnia. A balanced body is a healthy body, after all, and a healthy body fights off the cold and flu bugs on its own.
The right herbal formula can also be a valuable tool in the fight against getting sick. Peninsula Acupuncture offers Ground Support, a convenient immune-boosting formula that has shown effective results in preventing colds and flus. Other herbal treatments are available, and specific conditions can be addressed during a simple consultation.
For immune-boosting acupuncture treatments and herbs, contact Peninsula Acupuncture today. Don't forget to pick up your bottle of Ground Support while you're there.
Herbal Spotlight: Feverfew
Migraine sufferers have looked for alternative treatments for decades, and a simple-but-effective treatment may come in the form of feverfew. Feverfew, also known as wild chamomile, has been studied for its migraine-preventative effects. It is also noted for helping with symptoms of arthritis and psoriasis.
Feverfew is known for its anti-inflammatory properites; for migraines, the common hypothesis is that feverfew inhibits the release of serotonin and prostaglandins (common at migraine onset), contributors to blood vessel inflammation related to migraines and headaches.
Do you suffer from migraines and sever headaches? Feverfew might be a natural treatment for your problems. Contact Peninsula Acupuncture today for more information.
